LITTLE BROTHERS FRIENDS OF THE ELDERLY CHICAGO
Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly has been dedicated to relieving isolation and loneliness among older adults in Chicago since 1959.
Women and men 70 and older who are aging alone have a family in Little Brothers. For over 60 years, this organization has been providing steadfast friendship to thousands of older adults who no longer have friends and family to rely on. All of their programs and services are always offered at no cost, and the organization receives no government assistance. LBFE depends on the generosity of donors to bring conversation, companionship, celebration and connection to the men and women they serve. The philosophy, programs and activities remain focused on alleviating loneliness and isolation among older adults. Social interaction is critical to the human spirit — and LBFE believes nurturing the soul is as important as feeding the body.
